About Candidate
Dr. Arindam Mondal is a Kreitman Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Materials Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. His research focuses on the direct conversion of metals (Pb, Sn, Au, Cu) into metal halide perovskites for solar-cell and optoelectronic applications, offering an innovative, sustainable route to semiconductor fabrication.
He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (2023) under Dr. Satyajit Gupta, where he achieved a CGPA of 9.91/10. His doctoral work on molecular engineering of 2D hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites led to the development of moisture-stable, highly efficient photo(electro)chemical and photocatalytic systems. He previously completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Chemistry at Visva-Bharati University, specializing in physical chemistry and quantum-dot photophysics.
Dr. Mondal has published extensively in high-impact journals such as ACS Applied Energy Materials, ACS Omega, Materials Letters, and ChemistrySelect, and holds a U.S. patent (Provisional No. 63/690,818) on metal-to-perovskite conversion. His technical expertise includes thin-film deposition, X-ray diffraction, photophysical characterization, and solar-cell fabrication.
He has received multiple best presentation awards and has contributed to Israel’s Ministry of Energy research proposals. With strong interdisciplinary training in materials chemistry, photoelectrochemistry, and nanomaterials, Dr. Mondal aims to develop green, low-toxicity, and stable perovskite materials for next-generation energy devices.
