Research includes magnetic thin-film devices utilizing spin-transfer torque and spin-orbit torque, alongside material studies on magnetic and spin Hall materials.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include novel material development, thin-film fabrication, advanced microfabrication (photolithography\/electron beam lithography), and magnetization dynamics evaluation (e.g., FMR). The specific research focus will be aligned with the candidate\u2019s expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The group provides state-of-the-art fabrication and characterization facilities and collaborates with internal NIMS groups and external academic\/industry partners.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note:<\/em> Duties are subject to change within the scope of the employee\u2019s position.<\/p>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ph.D. in materials science, applied physics, or physics (by appointment)<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in magnetism and magnetic materials<\/li>\n<li>Scientific English communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Desirable: thin-film fabrication (sputtering), magnetic characterization, microfabrication, high-frequency measurements, computational materials research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Employment Details<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Starting Date:<\/strong> April 1, 2026 or later (negotiable)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Term:<\/strong> One year (renewable up to 5 years with annual evaluation)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trial Period:<\/strong> 2 months<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working Hours:<\/strong> 7 hours 45 minutes\/day (flex-time system; discretionary deemed 8h15m)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Holidays:<\/strong> Weekends, national holidays, New Year holidays, annual paid leave<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Salary &amp; Benefits<\/h3>\n<p>Monthly salary: 345,425\u2013385,626 JPY (reference for newly appointed Ph.D.).
