Metal halide perovskites are redefining the limits of optoelectronic performance, particularly in next-generation photovoltaics. Despite record efficiencies, their long-term operational stability remains the central bottleneck preventing large-scale deployment.<\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of the <strong>HOPE project<\/strong>, instability is addressed as a fundamental materials science challenge. The successful candidate will contribute to uncovering the physical origins of degradation under realistic operational conditions and help establish structure\u2013property\u2013stability relationships for durable wide-bandgap perovskite materials used in tandem solar cells and advanced optoelectronic devices.<\/p>\n<h3>Research Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Fabricate high-efficiency and stable wide-bandgap perovskite devices.<\/li>\n<li>Perform device characterization, experimental loss analysis, and advanced optical spectroscopy measurements.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to planning and execution of research tasks and ensure timely completion of project objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Present and publish research results in project meetings, peer-reviewed journals, and international conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare regular reports documenting scientific progress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Candidate Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.<\/li>\n<li>Strong background in semiconductor physics and optoelectronic materials.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with thin-film processing, photovoltaic devices, or optical characterization is advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Strong experimental skills including experiment design, advanced instrumentation operation, and data analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international research environment.<\/li>\n<li>Good written and spoken communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Funding &amp; Duration<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Funded by a <strong>DFG Emmy Noether Grant<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed term of <strong>three years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application Instructions<\/h3>\n<p>Applicants should submit a single combined PDF including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Detailed CV including B.Sc. and M.Sc. transcripts<\/li>\n<li>Research statement (maximum two pages) explaining motivation and alignment with the project<\/li>\n<li>Contact details of two referees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Email application with subject line <strong>\u201cPhD \u2013 HOPE WBG \u2013 [Your Name]\u201d<\/strong> to <strong>esma.ugur@cup.uni-muenchen.de<\/strong>.
