VTT is seeking a Lead, Quantum Technology Applications<\/strong> to drive the development of quantum technology business opportunities and strengthen the quantum ecosystem in Finland and internationally. VTT is one of Europe’s leading applied research organizations, bringing together over 2400 experts from more than 60 nationalities to develop science-based innovations addressing major global challenges.<\/p>\n

The role sits within VTT\u2019s Microelectronics and Quantum Technologies<\/strong> research area, which focuses on quantum computing, sensing, and communication technologies. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between research, industry, and ecosystem partners, transforming research outcomes into real-world business opportunities.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Drive the development of real-world applications and business opportunities for quantum technologies.<\/li>\n
  • Lead the InnoQ business ecosystem in Finland and support Nordic and European collaboration networks.<\/li>\n
  • Support the development of the Finnish quantum competence center as part of the European quantum competence network.<\/li>\n
  • Identify application opportunities in quantum computing, sensing, and communications.<\/li>\n
  • Shape VTT\u2019s offering in quantum technologies and develop commercialization strategies.<\/li>\n
  • Build partnerships with research institutions, companies, and ecosystem stakeholders.<\/li>\n
  • Act as a thought leader in quantum technology and collaborate across VTT research areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Required Qualifications<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • University degree in Physics, Information and Communication Technology, or a related field.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of quantum technologies (computing, sensing, or communication) and their application potential.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in business development, B2B collaboration, and ecosystem building.<\/li>\n
    • Strong leadership and networking skills.<\/li>\n
    • Fluency in English and Finnish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Experience working in R&D environments.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with public funding programs such as EU or Business Finland funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
