The position is based at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE) at Campus Norrk\u00f6ping, Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>The research focuses on the design and development of sustainable organic and bio-based materials for energy transport, conversion, and storage. The successful candidate will conduct research on biomass-derived materials for sodium- and zinc-based battery systems, contributing to environmentally friendly energy-storage technologies.<\/p>\n<h3>Research Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and synthesize bio-based electrode materials derived from biomass sources such as lignin and cellulose.<\/li>\n<li>Design and fabricate electrodes for sodium-ion and zinc-based batteries.<\/li>\n<li>Perform structural, chemical, and electrochemical characterization of energy storage materials.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble and test electrochemical cells including coin-cell fabrication and battery performance evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze experimental data and develop methods for improving energy storage device performance.<\/li>\n<li>Publish research findings in international peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in research meetings and contribute to new project proposals and funding applications.<\/li>\n<li>Teaching duties may be included up to 20% of working hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Required Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or a closely related field.<\/li>\n<li>Research experience in electrochemical energy storage, battery materials, or related areas.<\/li>\n<li>Strong ability to conduct independent research and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with biomass-derived or carbon-based materials.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of sodium-ion or zinc-based battery systems.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with electrochemical characterization techniques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Research Environment<\/h3>\n<p>The Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE) is an internationally recognized research environment with more than 150 researchers working across interdisciplinary fields including materials science, electronics, chemistry, and photonics.
