Within the Projects and Techniques Division, the Neutron Optics Service is seeking a Vacuum Deposition Technician to join the Multilayers group.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will contribute to the production of multilayer mirrors through thin-film vacuum deposition and support the development of neutron optical components used in advanced scientific instruments.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Produce multilayer mirrors using an automated thin-film deposition system developed in-house.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure process traceability by recording parameters for each deposition run.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, troubleshoot, and correct process issues by characterizing deposited mirrors.<\/li>\n<li>Perform maintenance and continuous improvement of deposition machines.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the design, assembly, and integration of neutron optical components.<\/li>\n<li>Support technical developments aimed at improving manufacturing processes, equipment, and characterization methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Candidate Profile<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree (Level 6 qualification) in a relevant technical field such as mechanical, production, or materials engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Strong background in mechanics including design, assembly, and special-purpose machinery.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on technical approach and motivation to maintain daily production processes.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in or knowledge of vacuum techniques (especially high-vacuum plasma deposition), precision mechanics, electrical engineering, automation, and nanoscale
