The THz Electronics Group focuses on the development and investigation of terahertz sources, detectors, and systems, with particular emphasis on resonant-tunnelling diodes (RTDs). The successful candidate will contribute to research on THz RTD oscillators and detectors within an internationally recognized research group.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in the field of THz electronics.
- Investigate resonant-tunnelling diode (RTD) oscillators and detectors.
- Publish research results in high-impact journals and conferences.
- Participate in teaching activities including lab courses, supervision of students, and exam corrections.
- Assist with organizational and administrative tasks within the research group.
Candidate Profile
- MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong background in high-frequency electrical engineering or electronic/optoelectronic device physics.
- Experience in semiconductor technology, nano/microfabrication, THz or high-frequency measurements, or electromagnetic simulations is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for scientific research.
- Knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory.
Position Details
- Position: University Assistant Prae-Doc (doctoral researcher).
- Working hours: 30 hours per week.
- Contract duration: Up to 4 years.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
- Location: Vienna, Austria.
Salary
The salary follows pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. The minimum salary is currently EUR 2,786.10 gross per month (14 payments per year) for 30 hours per week. Relevant work experience may increase the salary.
