Role Overview
The position is embedded in the Computational Chemistry Group at UvA and focuses on advancing computational modeling for electrochemical systems under nanoconfinement. You’ll collaborate within ANION, addressing challenges in DFT-molecular dynamics, multiscale simulations, AI-driven modeling, and advanced electrochemical simulation methods.
Your Responsibilities

Conduct state-of-the-art research in computational nanoelectrochemistry.

Develop new methods for modeling nanoscale electrochemical phenomena.

Teach and mentor students in the chemistry curriculum.

Contribute to organizational and outreach activities.

Secure research funding and build collaborations.
Qualifications

PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.

Strong publication record in computational chemistry/electrochemistry.

Experience in DFT simulations, multiscale modeling, and/or AI methods.

Teaching experience and student supervision skills.

Excellent English communication skills (Dutch proficiency encouraged).
