What You’ll Do

As R&D Team Lead for Thin Film Deposition, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5–10 researchers and engineers in IMEC’s Materials-Interfaces-Deposition-Analysis (MIDA) department.

  • Drive thin film research for advanced 3D memory device integration.

  • Oversee Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) for novel dielectric and metallic films.

  • Define research priorities, set team goals, and manage technical challenges.

  • Collaborate with international experts, internal departments, and global equipment/material suppliers.

  • Contribute to both short-term project goals and long-term strategic planning in nanotechnology-driven memory solutions.

Who Succeeds Here

This role is ideal if you:

  • Hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Nanotechnology.

  • Have 5+ years of semiconductor industry or advanced research facility experience.

  • Bring expertise in deposition processes (ALD, CVD, PVD).

  • Possess leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary research teams.

  • Have a background in memory device technology (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Communicate fluently in English and thrive in an international, multicultural environment.
