Research Focus

The Biotechnology & Bioengineering Group merges synthetic biology, nanotechnology, and bioelectronics to create programmable human cells that can:

  • Respond to electrical, electromagnetic, acoustic, and biochemical cues.

  • Enable wireless and real-time control of therapeutic protein expression.

  • Support advanced medical applications for cancer, metabolic disorders, neurodegeneration, autoimmune, and infectious diseases.

Current platforms include:

  • Direct-current-actuated regulation of cellular activity.

  • Electromagnetic programming for wireless therapeutic control.

  • Closed-loop bioelectronic systems for disease monitoring and intervention.


Role Description

PhD & Postdoc researchers will work on:

  • Catalyst engineering and computational simulation.

  • Bioelectrode fabrication for advanced bioelectronic devices.

  • Electrical engineering for closed-loop biological programming.

  • Development of bioelectronic implants and specialized control software.


Candidate Profile
