What You’ll Do
As a Photonic Quantum Sensing Researcher, you will:

Shape future technologies by contributing to IMEC’s strategic roadmap for quantum & AI infrastructure.

Design and model integrated photonic & quantum systems for high-precision sensing and scalable computing.
-
Collaborate with engineers & architects to define system requirements and validate PIC (photonic integrated circuit) designs.
-
Perform simulations & modeling using tools such as Lumerical, VPI, Matlab, and Python.
-
Validate designs experimentally with fabricated PICs and off-the-shelf components.
-
Document and share findings through patents, publications, and technical reports.
-
Mentor interns and PhD students, shaping the next generation of photonics researchers.
Who Succeeds Here
The ideal candidate will bring:

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or related fields.

Experience in quantum & photonic system design, PIC modeling, and optical systems.

Strong laboratory skills in signal processing, PIC characterization, and experimental validation.

Proficiency in Lumerical Interconnect, VPI, Matlab, and Python.
